Tom Osborne is a technology and business leader with more than a decade of experience building platforms and companies at the convergence of data science, artificial intelligence, and drug development. He is currently Founder & CEO of Switchback Therapeutics, an AI-native biotechnology company developing first-in-class multifunctional antibodies for autoimmune and inflammatory diseases.

Over the course of his career, Tom has built and led technical teams focused on some of the most complex challenges in life sciences and technology. Prior to founding Switchback, he led Strategy & Partnerships at Verily (Google Life Sciences), where he oversaw scientific collaborations with leading biopharma companies and a broad portfolio of healthcare and technology partnerships. Earlier, as a Partner at McKinsey & Company, he was a leader in the Life Sciences R&D practice, advising biopharma companies, technology firms, investors, and research institutions on the application of data science and emerging technologies.

Previously, Tom founded the Clinical Research business at Flatiron Health, leading the business through Flatiron’s $2.1 billion acquisition by Roche in 2018. He began his career at Microsoft before moving into life sciences, which he views as one of the most important frontiers for technology and AI.

At Genoa, Tom supports entrepreneurs and the broader team in navigating the rapidly evolving impact of AI and technology across biotechnology and healthcare, informed by his experience as both an operator and company builder.

Tom holds an A.B. from Harvard University and an M.B.A. from the Wharton School.
